Sick Days

I’ve finally caught what has been going around MECA. Since I’m sick, I’ve been lying around watching TV on hulu, and because of this I’ve stumbled across a new mockumentary series called My Generation wherein a fake camera crew follows a fake highschool class and then comes back to see what’s happened “10 years later”. and it is okay, it tries a little too hard and the situations are vaguely unbelievable.

Its funny, because it’s kind of stealing the idea from this british Documentary series called the Up series, which is amazing.

The Up series follows a group of people from the age of 7 to the age of 49. the series was filmed by generations of people who were committed to it wholly. Its beautiful and agonizing and all it is, is truth. It is such a elegant and complete witness to the human condition and everything that comes with growing up and person in modern society. It covers mental illness and disappointment and joy and nothing is scripted, nothing is forced. I would really recommend it to everyone.
